I never used to think of myself as an athlete. In 8th grade, I tried out for the volleyball team after training hard for two straight weeks with a very talented athletic friend of mine. We had both never done volleyball, but being an already gifted athlete, she made the team and I didn’t. I was crushed and figured to be healthy or athletic, I’d have to learn to love running. I couldn’t get motivated to workout until the summer of 2007 when I tried my first CrossFit workout with my family. I couldn’t do a single push up or sit up and the workout was HARD. I vividly remember doing the Filthy Fifty in the beginning and struggling not try cry and wondering “WHY AM I DOING THIS?”  Needless to say, I kept up with it and have now been a part of CrossFit Modesto since it’s opening in November 2007. I love that CrossFit workouts are not just physical struggles, sometimes they’re mental BATTLES. CrossFit has made me a better person, has helped me not to suck at life and it’s turned me into a competitive athlete/fitness addict. CrossFit Modesto is my second home and I love everyone here!

I’m currently attending Modesto Junior College to pursue a degree in Fire Science.

I’m most proud of my 3:14 “Grace” and I love my Do-Wins, crazy knee high socks, and headbands.
