When my parents first opened CrossFit Modesto back in 2007, boot camps, functional fitness, and places similar to us were pretty sparse. Fast forward five years later and there’s practically a fill-in-the-blank-FIT on every corner flipping tires, lifting barbells, swinging kettlebells or doing pull ups. I think that’s great, as long as they’re not selling their functional fitness with Zumba. I’m only kidding. If dancing is your thing, by all means do it.
What I mean to say is that the growing pool of functional fitness knowledge is growing every day. High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT for short) is EXTREMELY effective and it’s catching on quickly. It doesn’t have to be called “CrossFit” for your workouts to change your body. But HIIT should be a big part of EVERYONE’S training, even if you consider yourself a runner or a lifter or a mom or an accountant or out-of-shape or old or whatever.
So spread the HIIT word and let people know what they’re missing!
