Why do you do CrossFit?
Ask that question to a hundred people from different CrossFit gyms and I am sure you will get a lot of different answers but most would have a lot of similarities. I have been doing CrossFit for six + years and running a CrossFit gym for five years so I have had the opportunity to hear a lot of peoples reasons for doing CrossFit. The number one reason people start CrossFit is the same as any other fitness program, to lose weight. Other top reasons I have heard over the past five years are, get stronger, more endurance, better overall health, prepare for a sport or event of some kind and compete in the CrossFit games. We often see peoples reasons change after doing CrossFit for a time or they just add additional things they enjoy about CrossFit. We regularly hear people talk about the camaraderie with their fellow CrossFitters and that along with the results that naturally come with doing a good CrossFit program are probably the main reasons people that have quit every other fitness program will stick with CrossFit. Another thing that happens is people find that they have a competitive side they didn’t know they had and CrossFit brings it out. So whatever your reasons are keep doing it, keep it fun and enjoy life.
The above picture of me and daughter Rachel captures the reason I do CrossFit, to be able to enjoy life with my family and go out and share fun healthy activities with them. With the health and fitness I get from CrossFit I plan on being able to do this kind of stuff for a long time.
