In November CrossFit Modesto will be five years old. I can’t believe it’s been five years since I flew to Flagstaff Arizona for my first CrossFit certification, click here to see pics from the cert. This was back in the days when Coach Glassman ran many of the certs , along with Nicole Carroll, Dave Castro, Kelly Starrett and several others who have gone on to be very well known in the CrossFit world. When CrossFit Modesto opened we were the first official CrossFit affiliate in the central valley and one of only about 300 worldwide. A lot has changed in five years, there are about 4500 Crossfit affiliates, the Crossfit Games has exploded. We have gone through many changes here at Crossfit Modesto as well, all for the better in my opinion but one thing hasn’t changed. Since we first opened our doors our goal has been to help regular people get stronger, faster and healthier. Many people have reached a level of fitness they never thought they could attain. We have also always had the idea that we needed to keep it FUN. I once had one of our instructors say to me” you’ve got to decide what kind of crossfit gym you want to have” I was pretty bewildered by the statement at the time since we had always made it known exactly what kind of gym we wanted, it was the kind of gym we had and still have today. A fun friendly environment where people of all fitness levels and experience can come in and feel like an athlete and get in fantastic shape and a staff that is knowledgeable and helpful to EVERYONE not just a select few AKA fire breathers.
As a way to say thanks to YOU the CrossFit Modesto client November will be a student appreciation month. We will be giving out prizes all month, having bring a friend days and much more. It’s all about YOU the CrossFit Modesto student, without all of you we wouldn’t have made it five years. THANK YOU! Also coming up in December our fifth year anniversary/Christmas luncheon, we are going to feed you and give out a bunch of cool prizes so stay tuned for more info.
