CrossFit Modesto Krav Maga & Fitness recently welcomed another business to our Preferred Vendors Club: Old Plantation Coffee and Cafe (OPCC for short). OPCC is located on Roselle and Floyd Avenue in the Raley’s shopping center. I had the opportunity to sit down with one of OPCC’s loyal employees, Lisa, to talk shop and learn a little bit more about this relatively new coffee house in Modesto, CA.
Old Plantation Coffee and Cafe first opened their doors on March 27th, 2011. The owners Vince and Rose Lentini felt Modesto needed a coffee shop with a family atmosphere and thus OPCC was born. I had the privilege to look through their opening day photo album.
I saw many familiar faces and Lisa was able to point out to me their regulars who were there from the very first day. While we were talking, she was able to point out five regulars in the cafe who were reading, eating, studying, or working.
When I asked Lisa what kind of atmosphere they wanted to create at OPCC, she immediately answered, “Family.” They want to be a place where you can take your grandmother or your two-year-old.
One of their other goals is to know everyone by their name and every time I’ve come back since my first visit, I’m welcomed with my name and a smile!
Old Plantation Coffee and Cafe has many different options for breakfast and lunch that range from $2-8 and their coffee is FANTASTIC. It’s so smooth and good, it really doesn’t need any cream (though I like me some half-and-half in my coffee!).
OPCC is one of our November Student Appreciation Month sponsors so I’d encourage you to stop in, say hello, and order something from their menu. You get 10% off your order if you show your card!
Tuesday’s Future Soldier Workout was Private Thomas Bassett’s last workout with us, he leaves for boot camp latter this week and hopefully to ranger school after boot camp. Good luck Bassett, stay safe we enjoyed having you in the program.
